Old Roman sundial discovered

Recently, at excavations in the northwest of Switzerland, a student found a white stone in the base of a small wall.
She examined it and, turning it, to her surprise she saw part of a sundial pattern.
Stones that had clearly been part of the sundial pedestal were found in the same spot.

The sundial fragment shows lines typical for a Roman spherical sundial.
Excavations took place in the location of the first-century Roman legion camp of Vindonissa (Windisch).
The conclusion would be that the fragment is of a Roman sundial from that period.
