• To practice Gnomonics or the science of Sundialling, in order to increase knowledge and understanding of Sundials and related instruments (calculations, construction, design)
• To register and catalogue Sundials in The Netherlands
• To preserve existing Sundials and to promote restorations by all suitable means
• To popularize the Sundial and related instruments

Membership:

Membership of the Dutch Sundial Society is open to anyone interested in Gnomonics.
Subscriptions are EUR 30.- per annum plus a one time entry fee of EUR 5.-
Members outside Europe pay an extra EUR 5.- due to higher postage.
Applications may be made by transferring the appropriate sum (EUR 35.- or EUR 40.-) to Postbank, account number 518837, in the name of De Zonnewijzerkring, Amstelveen,
(BIC: INGBNL2A. IBAN: NL02 INGB 0000 5188 37)
In the case you transfer the money right away as a new member please send also an email to the treasurer with your full name and address because this is not always visible on the money transfer.

The Bulletin:

A Bulletin, in Dutch with an English summary, appears three times a year, carrying various papers by members. The Bulletin also reports on club life, and there are two recurring columns, viz.

• Sundials in The Netherlands

Meetings and Excursion

Members' meetings in Utrecht are held three times a year, on Saturday afternoons.
The excursion takes place on a summer Saturday.
