Mr. Chris de Vet, owner of a house in Haren, Groningen, wished to realise a sundial in an oval cartouche in the substantially west-declining house front.
De Vet left the design of the sundial to me and did the actual construction himself.
All parts, including letters and numerals, were handmade, leading to this result.

Some sundial facts:
Dimensions: 71 x 55 cm (28 x 22 in)
Materials: brass and copper on stainless steel; handmade.
Time indication: apparent solar time in Roman numerals in upper part; standard and summer legal time in Arabic numerals in lower part.
Standard and summer time are distinguished by the size of the numerals.
A small Equation of Time graph is applied in the middle left, and the initials of the designer as well as those of the builder are in the upper right.
