Armillary sphere
On the Queen's Birthday (30 April) 2004, Queen Beatrix visited Warffum, Groningen.
She and here company were welcomed in Vriesenstein House.

At the house, on a lovely stone pedestal, was an old armillary sphere that was to be restored for the occasion.
The iron dial was however in such a bad state that it was decided to build a new sundial.
The photograph below shows the new sundial with its novelty orange pennant (Queen Beatrix is of the House of Orange).
