Cylinder sundial in Waalwijk.

On 27 March 1944, the J. Maiburg Industry & Trade Venture company was established in Waalwijk.
In 2004, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary, a sundial was set up.
On 1 October 1971, current managing director F.J.J.C.G Maiburg entered office.

The sundial consists of two supporting parts of blue stone.
The one part carries a stainless steel gnomon of which the terminus serves as nodus. The other part carries a stainless steel cylindrical scale with hour and date lines.
A detail of this scale is reproduced below.

The hour lines are provided with equation-of-time loops and numerals for winter (above) as well as summer time (below).

There are three date lines, for the beginning of the four seasons.
The photograph above was taken just after the beginning of autumn.

Two extra date lines were drawn: one marking the establishment date, 27 March, and the other the entrance date of the current director, 1 October.

The figure below shows a plan of the combined hour and date scales..
