Year 2006
High on the front of the house of clockmaker Jacob ten Hoeve in Joure, a west declining sundial was placed in 2002.
It is a nodus dial. Its readout must take place at the terminus of the shadow line on the sundial.
Winter time is read in large Roman numerals, whereas small Arabic numerals indicate summer time. Equation of time should be applied in order to arrive at civil time.
On the dial face there is also a date scale according to the zodiac.
