The plain gnomon, also of stainless steel, has an index for the three date lines on the sundial.
The sundial reads apparent local time. The only numeral on the hour line pattern is XII for true local noon.
In the edge of the sundial is a date scale according to the signs of the zodiac.
There is also a table showing how many minutes should be added, for longitude correction and equation of time, to arrive at legal standard time.
A motto and a logo are extra decorations.
