The pond is circular, with bank sloping up.
The dial face is also circular, but it is to be adjusted level to the water surface.
In the centre of the pond, a rod provides the polar gnomon.
After placing the ornamental sphere, the pond is filled up and the plants are once more in their usual surroundings.
