Fountain sundial

Maastricht

This sundial is in a private garden in Maastricht.
The bluestone pond came from the garden of a medieval manor.

The modern sundial and the tailor-made base are also of bluestone.
The sundial consists of two parts, between which water flows out.

The lines of the sundial are hand cut.

The dial reads apparent solar time, and there are three date lines for the beginnings of the four seasons.
Moreover, there is a date line for 19 April.

The dial’s motto is “Hora Est”.
