Analemmatic sundial

The schoolyard of the ‘Amstelmeerschool’ primary school in Amsterdam North was recently tidied up, and this colourful analemmatic sundial is a pleasant addition.

The young children think it is a hopscotch diagram; older children and adults recognize its function – a sundial.
The sundial shows summer (daylight saving) time.
