Vertical morning sundial
Tricht

In 2008, a sundial was completed on a considerably east declining wall of a house in Tricht in the Betuwe district.

Our member Hendrik Hollander designed and calculated the line pattern for the sundial.
Astrid van der Werff, occupant of the house, set the austere mathematical pattern in a painting and thereby transformed the sundial into a work of art.
The painting draws inspiration from, and is a tribute to, the Betuwe and its extensive fruit culture.

The sundial indicates summer time from the hours of 6 until 12, as well as the beginning of the four seasons.
