Half-open armillary sphere

In 1995, at the opening of a new industrial building in Hardinxveld-Giessendam, the staff gave a half-open armillary sphere sundial.
Meanwhile, the building found a different use, but the sundial is still there.

The structure is made of iron and subsequently blasted, zinc-sprayed and painted.
The main colour is black; the hour scale is white. The pole style was red, but has now faded considerably.

The dial shows local apparent time. The scale runs from 5 am to 7 pm.
The diameter of the hour band is approximately 60 cm (2’) and the total height of the sundial is about 1.80 m (6’)..
