Horizontal Sundial

Heesch (Netherlands)

During the renovation of a small public garden, a horizontal sundial on a brick base was built.
The bricks in the base are of the same type as those in the red building behind it.
The sundial is aligned with nearby walkways.
As a consequence, no side of the base is aimed north, and the pole style gnomon is therefore oblique to the sundial body.

The hour lines read daylight saving time from 6 am until 6 pm.

The sundial shows the maxim
I only count the sunny hours.
