On 28 June 2003, the Dutch Sundial Society celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in Utrecht.
Four sundials were added to the city's sundial pool.

A horizontal sundial was placed on the railing of one of the galleries of the Dom tower.
In former times, the tower watch used to regulate the tower clock by a sundial like it in the same spot.

Recently an old south vertical dial was found near the Buurkerk (literally, citizen's church; also known as Church of St. Mary; now National Museum "Bells to Barrel organs"). This dial was used as an example for a replica painted on the Buurkerk front.
Although this front is not a perfect south wall but declines a little, it was decided to paint the dial as a south vertical to keep the original appearance.

A special armillosphere was placed on a beautiful old pedestal in the University Museum's Botanical Gardens.
Apart from the usual hour scale in the equatorial ring, there are extra, smaller, hour scales on the outside of this ring.
There used to be several of these armillospheres in the gardens of our country's rural estates.

A noon dial on the wall of the former University Museum building in Bilt Street was unveiled in 1985.
After the museum moved, the noon strip was put in storage, but september 20th 2003 the dial is replaced by the maker, Jacob Borsje, on a wall within the new museum grounds.
