Year 2004
It seems tucked away in a corner, but this prettily built sundial sits prominently beside the main entrance of the castle in Heukelum, close to the city of Utrecht but in the province Gelderland.
It is a west-declining sundial on a marble slate, with hour and half-hour lines.
The sundial dates from 1914, but since 1995, a copy replaces the marble slab. The original slab, which broke in two, is stored within the castle.
A line drawing of this lovely sundial has decorated the title page of our Bulletin for many years now.
