No sundials had EOT loops that early.
Yet, this Middelbug sundial seems to give that impression.
The date 1682 is supposedly correct. The sundial will have been installed then.
But the EOT loops were added in 1842.
Around that time, Middelbug changed from apparent solar time to mean time.
From then on, clocks were the prime source of time, and sundials had to be modified.
When did the first EOT loop appear on a sundial?
In the Netherlands, it was around 1730, on a sundial by David Coster.
