Over the main entrance to the Nationale Nederlanden insurance company building, there is a large sculpture: four men and women depicting agriculture in the four seasons, and the Horn of Harvest (Horn of Plenty, Cornucopia) above them.
In the middle of the group there is a sitting child, the left arm resting on an hour glass and the right hand (between the feet) holding the gnomon of the sundial below: a stone, considerably declining west, with numerals from X to VIII (20) for standard time. There are no hour lines.
The motto above the sundial reads: BAET IS TEGENS ALLE SCHAE (‘profit defies losses’).
Under the sundial is the year MCMXLIV (1949).
The sundial was made by Albert Termote.
