Sundial of the month September

East, West and South dial

On a corner of the Delft town hall is a three-faced stone sundial, made up of an (almost) east, west and south dial.
The south face mentions the declination in old-fashioned Dutch:
DESE WICKT NAER OOSTEN 2 GR 40 M.
This [surface] yields towards East by 2 degrees and 40 minutes.

The town hall was built in 1620, and the sundial is visible on a print from 1667.
It would appear from other literature that the sundial was installed in 1663, and was repaired in the year 1710.
