This multiple stone sundial is in the garden of the Menkemaborg in Uithuizen, Groningen.
It consists of two cube dials and a star-shaped dial, on a prettily sculptured pedestal.
The bottom cube is directed toward the points of the compass, the other cube is turned forty-five degrees.
Together, they show eight dials.
The star-shaped slab is in the equatorial plane and has twelve points.
The edges of the star points serve as pole styles, and the surfaces are as many dial faces.
On the top and bottom of the star are equatorial sundials, their pole styles sharing a bar.
Under the star, on the north side, are a cherub’s head and the date: 1722.
The black-and-white photograph is taken from P. Terpstra’s book Zonnewijzers (Sundials) of (1953).
