On the front of a building on the Rotterdam Schiekade, there is a large sculpture: two men and two women depicting agriculture in the four seasons, and the Horn of Harvest (Horn of Plenty, Cornucopia) above them.
Albert Termotte made the sculpture in 1949.
In the middle of the group there is a sitting child, the left arm resting on an hour glass and the right hand holding the gnomon of the sundial below.
The sundial is a west decliner, without hour lines, with numerals from X to VIII (20).
Today, the simple gnomon is badly bent, and the sundial does not function correctly.
The motto above the sundial reads:
BAET IS TEGENS ALLE SCHAE [profit defies losses].
