South dial

In 1992, a south dial was placed on a newly built home in Oude Haske, Friesland.
The residents designed the sundial, and made it out of French limestone.
The hour line pattern was calculated with the help of "De Zonnewijzerkring".

The chosen time system is that of local apparent time. This makes the pattern symmetric.

The letters on the sundial are the initials of the residents.

At the top of the pattern is the latitude, and at the bottom of the sundial is the date, 1992.
