Sundial of the month April

Declining Vertical sundial

Willemstad

In 1979, a sundial was placed on the 36 degrees west declining wall of a house by the old inland port of Willemstad.
The sundial, made of 2 cm (3/4”) thick Perspex, is 1.5 m (5’) square, and sits in a heavy wooden frame.

In the centre is a sundial with a style triangle, showing Central European Time.
Three date curves show the start of the four seasons. The style has an index for this purpose.

To the left are the town arms of Willemstad and the motto Fortitudo mea Deus (God [is] my strength; Ps 43:2).

To the bottom right there is an equation-of-time loop, using the tip of the style triangle for its index.

To the top left, there is another sundial. It shows Italian hours, numbered as Time until sunset.
This dial has seven date curves for the twelve signs of the zodiac.
Its index is the tip of the horizontal triangle.
